Black India Ink

I'm going through a big experimenting phase at the moment - just trying out new materials. Last week I picked up some ink and have been trying out different kinds of things with it.

I used a drawing I did at my life drawing class for one of them:

Watercolours and I. We are trying to make friends.

I've never learnt to use watercolours properly so I have had to just make up my own way of using them. Maybe that's what everyone does? I have somehow ended up with a lot of yellow in the paintings I have done. I'm not sure if that's because my new flat has yellow walls (see below!) or because I have very cheap watercolours and the yellow seems to have the nicest pigment! It's all a bit of an experiment but it's a strangely addictive thing to do. I now have a big pile of them - here's a few of them..

Happy Jubilee!

Spring time

I'm pretty sure that spring time has finally arrived in the UK!
Here's something flowery and exotic I've been working on.

The Adventures of Monsieur Robinet

Recently I've been illustrating this little story by the brilliant John Hegley.
Thank you John for permission to post this. I had so much fun drawing it!
